Donald L. Johnson, 80, of Fairport Harbor, passed away Sept. 28, 2012, at his home.
Born Oct. 8, 1931, in Chicago, Ill.,
Don was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fairport Harbor, served in the Air Force during the Korean War, and was a member of the National VFW.
Don was a friend of Bill.
He had worked for Diamond Shamrock Corporation and before that, with Rotor Tool in Cleveland.
Survivors are his wife, Aileen (Kautiainen); son, Keith (Ahn) Johnson of New Port Ritchie, Fla.; daughter, Cathleen (Niles) Oinonen of Fairport Harbor; grandchildren, Melissa (Josh) Houzvicka, Tristan Johnson, Jennifer (Paul) Schaefer, Amanda Johnson, and Casey (Dan) Cooper; great-grandchildren, Brent Johnson and Riley Houzvicka; and brother, Robert Johnson of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his son, John; parents, Everett and Irene Johnson; and brother, Howard.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, 504 Eagle St., Fairport Harbor, where friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Contributions in his memory may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or to Cross Roads Hospice.
