KasariHelen L. Kasari, 96, of Fairport Harbor, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Harbor Care in Fairport Harbor. She was born Oct. 11, 1916, in Fairport Harbor.

Mrs. Kasari was a grade school teacher at McKinley Elementary School in Fairport Harbor for many years.

Helen was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, a historian of the Fairport Harbor Historical Society and a member of the Finnish Heritage Museum. Helen was proud of her Finnish heritage.

She is survived by her sister Mildred Zucker of Oakridge, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernie.

Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Potti Funeral Home, 538 Fifth St., Fairport Harbor. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Zion Lutheran Church, 508 Eagle St., Fairport Harbor. Visitation will be held one hour before the funeral service at the church. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Fairport Harbor.
