Ingrid S. Kuivila, 92, of Columbus, died Sunday afternoon, Feb. 6, 2011, at Mount Carmel East Hospital.
The former Ingrid Susanna Parkomaki was born Nov. 25, 1918, in Conneaut, and was the daughter of the late Jacob (Jack) and Johannah (Lepisto) Parkomaki.
A 1937 graduate of Conneaut High School, she was married to Paul Kuivila of Fairport Harbor Jan. 31, 1942.
She was formerly employed by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
For many years, Mrs. Kuivila lived in Painesville and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Fairport Harbor. She then lived in Poland, Ohio before moving to Columbus in 1995. She was a member of the Finnish Heritage Museum.
Survivors are her sons, Richard (Janet) Kuivila of Denver, Colo., David Kuivila of Howard, and Charles (Tammy) Kuivila of St. Louis, Mo.; daughter, Kathryn Kuivila (David Schoellhamer) of Sacramento, Calif.; grandchildren, Emily and Lee Kuivila, Luke (Stallard) and Aaron Kuivila; and sister, Aili Frew of Ashtabula.
Besides her parents and husband, Ingrid was preceded in death by her sister, Julia Kesatie; and brother, Donald Parkomaki.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at Potti Funeral Home, 538 Fifth Street, Fairport Harbor. Pastor Hannu Vepsalainen of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
