The First
NISU BAKE of 2009

WHAT: Nisu Bake by members and volunteers
and/or folks wishing to learn nisu baking. Please volunteer.
It is great fun and experience is not necessary. You can help with ingredient prep,
measuring, baking, weighing dough for braids, brushing egg wash and applying
the crispy sugar, washing bowls, and utensils, bagging cooled loaves, etc.
WHEN: Date is Saturday, January 17, 2009
TIME
SPAN: On Saturday, arrive @ 7:30
and plan on being there until the project is finished.
WHERE: Baking will be done in Zion LutheranŐs
excellent basement kitchen which is accessible by the rear door of the
church. Zion is at 508 Eagle
Street, on the corner of Eagle and Fifth Streets.

NEED TO BRING: Please bring a
clean apron, a health department required head covering (ball cap, scarf). If you have a very large balloon
whisk, 10 quart bowl, 2 and/or 4 quart handled Pyrex bowls for heating the milk
& butter in microwave, those items would be nice to bring along. pLEASE PUT YOUR NAME ON YOUR ITEMS TO ENSURE
YOU GET THE RIGHT ONES BACK!

to share are always appreciated by all.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Sales of mini-loaves @ $4.00 each will follow. Additional sales of these newly baked
mini-nisu-loaves will be at the FH Museum on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00. As a special incentive, buy two loaves
or more and enjoy a Finnish blend cup of coffee for free.
